VBS-A Week of Blessings and Chaos

Wow! VBS was an absolutely amazing whirlwind...I will try to sum it up in snapshots. (The pictures aren't in any order)

A van of kids arrive from San Ignacio, excited about the day.

As some of the drivers had more than one route, the kids arrived as early as 9:20. They registered and then found something to do until it was time to come together in the comedor.

The kids wait in line to be admitted into the cancha, so they could say their verses and be registered.

Carissa, Steph, Jenna and Pepe taught the girls' class ages 9-11.

Disciple Jenean holds up one of the fish that was ready to be multiplied. Limón, who you may recognize as Jonah, apparently thought he was Ninja Disciple.

Carissa and Jon Apps signed kids in and listened to memory work in the morning.

Limón, myself, Gloria, Jenean and Ruben dress up for the lesson, "Feeding the 5,000).

The van doors open, exploding with kids.

The girls' class combined with another class where the five loaves and two fish were multiplied to feed the 5,000.

One of the little girls works on memorizing her verse as she waits for her van to leave for the day.

The class 12+ (taught by Seth and Joel)met on the boys' porch. Everyday parents were coming, which prompted an adult class (taught by Bill) to be started midweek.

During registration, two of my favorite little girls in the world, Julisa and Estefania, kept me company.

Marcos, Carlos and Manuel stand at the registration table.

Tito stands and waits to be registered. (Have you ever seen a cuter little boy?)

Juana hangs out the bus window on the last day, showing me her prize for memory work. The t-shirt reads, "Jesus loves me."

A huge thanks to all our short term volunteers who kept us going and did all the behind the scenes work! Once again, I am left with inexpressible gratitude for all of those who prayed for the work. God heard the prayers and blessed beyond what we could have imagined.

"Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare." Psalms 75

Ames,

Great summary of the week. What a blessing. We've been anxiously following the reports from Carissa and you this week. Thanks. You can do editorials for the Banner when you visit Bluffton.

Hola Emi Michel!
