Yaneli starts with a smile after being strapped into the "swimmer's training wheels."

So, just because a kid quickly learns to ride a bike doesn't mean they will enjoy the water. She sat for most of the time on the edge of the pool. Anytime she was in the pool, it involved large amounts of yelling and crying.

This random teenage couple yelled at me when I walked by.
Them: Hey!
Me: Hi.
Them: Take a picture of us.
Me: Umm...have I met you before?
Them: It will be a great memory!
So, I guess this photo is for pure memory sake. Hopefully it created a wonderful moment for them.

Paola, Karla and Lili take a break from their game.

Blanca shows her superb form and swimming style.
Today I started thinking back to my early swimming lesson days to encourage the girls who were afraid or embarrassed to learn now. After reminicsing a little bit with them, I decided that even though we aren't learning that much, I would rather not learn from a drill sargeant. Anyone who reads this from Bluffton, do you remember Pete? ;)

oh, i remember! So scary. He is burned forever in my memory.
Booming Pete. I'm not sure who was most scared of him: the kids or the parents:).

Luckily I learned to swim before I met him. I could just sit back and be thankful I wasn't one of the kids like you. By the way, ask Joel if he remembers Pete.
Praying for you guys,
Luke
Oh yes I remember Pete quite well as a swim teacher in school...though I do remember by the time Janel and Travis got to meet him that I told them that "his bark is worse than his bite"! Hope you're staying cool!
Love,
Jill
I remember his bite being pretty bad. He pushed me in the swimming pool and I was little! I remember when the newspaper lady had to bribe me to jump off the diving board by agreeing to put my picture in the paper. :)
