Head Injuries

A few days ago Blanca and Yaneli were running around. They had the great idea that Yaneli should climb on Blanca's back. A decent idea until Blanca tripped over a rock and with both of her hands supporting Yaneli, she scraped the ground with her face.



That night as I was tucking the girls in:

Blanca: (yelling from the other room) Amy! How am I going to sleep!?!
Me: You'll be fine, just don't put that side of your face on the pillow.
Blanca: But this side is my favorite! (a few moments pass and she yells again) It is all okay, I can sleep on the other side too!

Fede's Head Injury

So I am still a little unclear of the details, but today after church, Fede fell and hit his knee. He later was acting like a concussion patient. ( I know it sounds weird because he hit his knee, but he had no feeling on one side of his body, headache, vomiting, whininess, etc). Gloria took him into the emergency room and I went a few hours later to see how things were progressing. I walked in and saw through a crack in the curtain. Fede lay on the bed, eyes closed, tongue out, IV in his hand...I kind of thought he had turned into a mental patient. "Fede?" I whimpered.



I pulled back the curtain to see Gloria doubled over with laughter. His mouth turned into a huge grin. He had made a miraculous recovery but still needed to be kept for observation. I sent Gloria home and said I would sit with him for awhile. I picked up a book to read, but he just wanted to chat. "Fede, don't you want to lay down, aren't you tired?" "Tired? No! I slept all afternoon." He was in an hilarious mood and we had a great rest of the time and they released him early. (Probably because the other patients were complaining because of the noise.)

Speaking of head injuries...

Tonight when I went to put the girls to bed, they told me to shut my eyes and sit on the couch to wait for a surprise.




Surprise! Jaqueline was dressed up as a grandma and deserves an Emmy for her role playing as she wouldn't stop talking, walking or acting like Nana. Very convincing.

Totally Unrelated: Guest Bloggers

I am going to be MIA for a couple of weeks and in my absence have asked other CVE staffers to keep the post coming. There have been several that have reluctantly agreed. They have all committed to being nice, especially during the time when I will be away from internet connection. :) I feel like it will be refreshing for everyone to hear from someone else. I am super excited to see their creative genius!
