From a Male Perspective

Guest Blogger #3
By: Joel

This is my first attempt at blogging, and I'm pretty sure I will never do it again. Who ever invented the format for creating a blog needs to be _______ (insert appropriate words). Maybe I am just being too obsessive compulsive, but I could not get the font, size, or spacing to work right. It was continuously changing on me. I must say that I now appreciate everyone who has the time and patience to blog. Anyways, on with the blog.

My main duty here at CVE is to take care of 9 boys ages 7-13. It seems like every day is a new adventure that brings new challenges. Some people might not know our boys very well, so I would like for you to choose the best answer that completes the following statement:

On any given day (when they are not fighting, eating, or trying to destroy something) the boys here at CVE would be most likely to. . .

A.) . . . run arround looking for tarantulas to play with.

Top: The hunting party shows off what they have caught.
Bottom: This tarantula has already eaten two of the others.

B.) . . . play with SuperGlue.
Top: Uriel tries to pull his fingers apart.
Bottom: We finally found a way to keep Francisco's mouth shut.

C.) . . . study hard.
Left: Some of the older boys working hard... or is it hardly working. ;)
Right: I had to call Fede's name 10 times before he looked up. What concentration!

D.) . . . make countless paper airplanes.
Left: Armando showes off his trick plane.
Right: Aaron demonstrates the difficult "double handed" throw.

Honestly, I'm not sure what the correct answer is, but hopefully people now know our boys a little bit better.

Hey Joel,
You did a great job blogging! Keep up the good work. We hope to hear from you again. Amy is gone for about 2 weeks so you can blog at least 4 more times!

Love ya, MarknBarb

Joel ~

Good job on the post. You gave us a great peek into the boys life at CVE. Boys will be boys, no matter where they live! From being parents of boys and working in a school, the answer would most likely be A, B, and D. To answer C, would exclude most boys we know.

Keep up the good work!

From the school teacher point of view, these boys actually do work pretty well in school (or at least summer school that is), but every once in awhile they'll find some question to throw out to get their teacher on a tangent. :)
I'll have to remember the super glue idea,...hmm...forget the tachas! (jk!) :)
Thanks for blogging, Joel.

Those boys must have a great teacher in that class.

Joel,

I’m glad to see that you are employing what you learned from our dad in dealing with the boys and not what you learned from your two older brothers. Just in case anyone was wondering, I’m sure dad never used super glue on Joel, but Linc and I probably wanted to when Joel was “telling” mom what we had done to him. (laundry basket cage, pepper on the cookie, etc.) Hang in there, Seth will be back in a few days. We’ll keep you in our prayers and are looking forward to seeing you in a week or two.

You know, we've heard some about the "lessons" Jo-el learned from his older brothers... and I'm not too sure he's NOT employing them... ;)
Jo-el, kudos to you for posting! If anyone had seen you in the school-room on Sat. night, they would be sending flowers, cookies, and Dr. Pepper for recuperation purposes... lol.
