"No One Said It Was Easy, But No One Ever Said It Would Be This Hard."

Today is Mother’s Day in Mexico, and while that means many happy and rewarding moments, we meet this day with heavy hearts. Andres and Timi have officially been adopted. This is their last day with us, as at 5:30 their adoptive parents are coming to take them home. We have had our brave faces on for each other, the boys, and the kids but as I write this and allow myself to think about the situation, I feel like a piece of my heart is being ripped out. Please pray for Jenna during this time as she has been the mother-figure, the mommy for these boys for a year-and-a half. Pray for Timi and Andres as they adjust to their new home. Pray that these little boys will forever remember the Word of God that has been planted in their hearts. God is going to be faithful. We just have to trust.

Andres and Timi, the little boys who walk most places holding hands. The stubborn boys who have wills of iron like I have never seen. Andres and his amazing athletic abilities. Timi and his adorable, curly hair.

A few weeks ago as they held hands and walked up to the house, Andres responded to Timi’s mumblings, “Timi, don’t be scared, it is just the dark and God is with us.”

I was recently listening to a Watermark song and the singer, Christy Nockels and her husband sing to their baby who they lost in a miscarriage. I don’t claim to understand the pain of losing a child that has grown in your womb as well as your hearts, but some of the lyrics were very applicable.

Sweet little babies,
it is hard to understand it ‘cause we are hurting
But there is healing
And we know we are stronger people through the growing
And in knowing that all things work together for our good
and God works His purposes just like He said He would.

We miss you every day,
We miss you in every way
But I know there is a day when we will hold you
You will kiss our tears away, when we will hold you

I don’t understand why everything has happened, but we can all take comfort that God does and He has been orchestrating the events with a smile. I can imagine him looking gently down and saying, “Surrender them to me, Just trust.”

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. Romans 11:33-36

thanks for the picture! It says it all between those little ones. I remember when Carissa first showed me the pictures of them when she got to Mexico. "These are brothers, Andres is very protective of Timi".. I believe thanks to the prayers of thousands, God intervined and let them be adopted together. I believe
"the thousands" will continue to pray for those two little boys and the staff at CVE..who are much too young in my mind to learn the lesson of letting go of a child.
God is in the salvation business and He has a plan for those guys.
We love you all and do especially plead for comfort for Jenna and Steph. Twyla/Art

It is really hard to believe that it is actually happening, but I am glad they get to go together. It would have ripped them apart to be separated. We will certainly pray for all of you and especially for Jenna. She did a wonderful job of raising them up to this point in their lives. They will never forget all of you and the part you played in their upbringing. God be close to you all during this difficult time.

luv ya,
Lisa and Bruce

wow...i'm a mess right now just reading your blog, and i still have a class teach! my heart hurts for you, but how wonderful that they've been placed in a family. thanks for being a mother to the motherless...i can't think of any better way to show the adoptive spirit and amazing love of our Father. also, your writing really pulls readers in--i may begin using it to teach my class about "attention grabbers"! plus, they will get a taste for the work you are doing in MX...a great combo!

We are praying for each of you and especially for those two little guys!! I have to think of the puzzle piece that Bill gave us the last morning we were down there ~ we can't see the whole picture of how this is going to end up, but I have to remember that God is faithful and loves those little guys even more than we do.
You guys are doing a great and wonderful job!
Love you,
Doug and Jill

We understand your hurt-as we've been through it. Our prayers will be with you in the days ahead. Hadn't heard until reading comments that they will be together. Praise the Lord for answered prayer.
