However, just as kids crawl onto your lap they crawl into your heart.
After 100's of their kisses and hugs and their little hearts and personalities brightly shining through, love is unavoidable.
Poncho, the obvious protector and provider of his family, is full of hugs and kisses and spends most of his days hauling his brothers and sister around in our green wagon. Now that Gloria is back from Juarez, he also has the big responsibility of being her boyfriend. ;)
Aaron, the little gentlemen, that runs to open doors and always ask to help with your load. He keeps a lot bottled up inside of himself. He is also the small boy who while "helping" in the kitchen drooled all over the frosting.
One night I was laying on the couch with a few of the kids (while Jenna did all the work) and Aaron and I had the following conversation.
Aaron: Poor Diego, he isn't married.
Amy: Oh and Aaron, you are married?
Aaron: Yes!
Amy: Who did you marry?
Aaron: To you silly!
Amy: Oh really, how long have we been married?
Aaron: It has been about a week...

Diego, stubborn and strong-willed, but he is almost always ready to giggle and have fun. At times he begins to cry quietly for his mom. He seems to miss her the most. He is very good at hiding his vegetables under the table or under his booster seat.
Candi, the littlest of the family, is hard not to spoil. She is a snuggler but doesn't seem to have a baby's normal desire to play and laugh. She is definitely behind developmentally but we know God can bring healing and change to her small body.

As Jenna's crew has increased, please keep her at the top of your prayer list.
I was recently reminded of the following thought that C.S. Lewis wrote in The Four Loves.
"Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket - safe, dark, motionless, airless - it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.”
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Romans 5:5
Oh Lord, may Your Love overflow from us!

"It is better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all". Not sure who said this, but it is most definitely true!!!
Happy Easter my dear Amy!
When I was in Magdalena, Poncho, Aaron, Diego, and Candy were special to me for some reason. Thanks for the update on them. I just read resently, "God won't judge us for how much we endured, but for how much we loved."
