Making Friends

Sometimes I feel like I am living in two worlds and last week those worlds collided as mom, dad, grandma and Jeff came for a visit. Collision is a negative word, but it was a blest collision as they all were able to meet and spend time with some people who have become so important in my life as my family, kids, church and friends.

Dad and Alma smile for the camera. Alma first met dad in Imuris 2 years ago. She is studying in Caborca now, but stopped by for the weekend and hit it off with dad.

Much to Jeff's dismay, the CVE kids were thrilled/obsessed by his presence. They all begged him to sit with them, share their bed to sleep, run races, etc. In this picture Jeff sat down to do his homework and soon had an group of admiring of fans who wanted to draw pictures for Jeff to take back to his school. Someday Jeff will really be flattered remembering all of the girls who had crushes on him...

Grandma and Yaneli smile for the camera.

Grandma's cane was a favorite with the kids. In this picture Daniel is doing his "old person" impression.

On the journey we were stopped at a military checkpoint so they could "check the vehicle." As soon as we pulled over, we saw that the soldiers were looking for someone to share gas with a stranded traveler. We were the chosen ones and after some hilarious attempts, the driver arrived safe and sound at the gas station.

Mom made plenty of friends, but because she so heavily censors all pictures of herself, I will not be able to post a visual. ;)

Amy ~
These pics are great!
~Daniel has a great old person act.
~The pic of Jeff with all the kids is funny - I'll bet he felt a little "out of his comfort zone"
~The gas pic is funny too. I guess you never know what might come your way.
It's neat that the kids got to interact with your family.
Love you! Teresa

So I am writing a paper right now on what the United Kingdom's response would be if a territorial dispute ever arose between two African nations... so I am thinking really peaceful thoughts when I got bored and decided to see what you've been up to in mexico... your blog was fun and then I checked out Steph's where I saw like world war III took place in a kitchen at an orphanage in Mexico... kind of prompted me to think that if WW III ever did take place then my cousin Jenean would surely be the victor because she has the biggest guns out of all of you down there!!! Hope this all makes sense. Take care my dear friend...
