Birthday Preparations

I am locked out of every major area right now as the girls are preparing for a my party, wrapping gifts, working on supper, etc. So, in light of this, I decided to go into a permissible area and update the blog.

Yesterday Jenna and I were talking outside when Yaneli came up, full of questions for Jenna. I was locked out of the dorm, the schoolroom and other areas in preparation for my birthday. Kids were asking me what my favorite color was, what I most wanted for my birthday, etc, etc. I didn't think things could get any funnier and then the spokeswoman for the girls again ran up.

Yaneli: Amy, what is your favorite flavor of pop?

Amy: Probably Coca Light...Or Manzanita

Yaneli: What is your favorite kind of chip?

Amy: Hmm...probably Rufles-tres quesos

Five minutes pass

Yaneli: Amy, can you take us to the store? We need to buy things for your Birthday surprise party tomorrow.

Amy: Sure, who is going to pay?

Yaneli: You! I don't have any money!

So, we left for the store. I had to be shooed from aisle to aisle so I couldn't see what they were buying...Not the best plan of my life but they were so happy "buying my gifts" that I didn't have the heart to stop them. My opinion changed when I heard how much money they needed! Yikes! One of those live-and-learn lessons I think..."
