Our own fearless Mama Schick (pictured above from her "individual photo") made the journey to Nogales Food Bank yesterday and brought back some amazing fresh produce! We laugh that we can't take the farmer out of Jeff, because even if we are just bringing in produce, he can't stay away from "the harvest." :) The food bank lets us come every Wednesday (if they have food) and bring a load down. It is a blessing to have fresh produce.
In all actuality, we really did harvest the sweetcorn. (And by "we" I totally mean the boys.) We enjoyed it for our supper. (And by "we" I totally mean everyone.) ;)Pictured above are Jose, Armando and Angel, showing their obvious pleasure.
Every time I hear the word "Harvest" I think of the analogy used in the Bible, likening this world to a ripe field, just waiting to be harvested. Matthew 9:37-38 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
Okay, one more thing before I go...I am forsaking all tact and going to ask a favor. Can you think of the feeling of getting the mail at Christmas time? Back in Ossian, our family gathers around the table and fights over who gets to open the envelopes that have Christmas cards. Well, I really miss that here and I have a big wall that needs filled, and I would love to have your Christmas card on it. :)

Oh, the fear of a dad when he sees the words "forsaking all tact". Thankfully, a plea for cards and not money. Amy, I challenge you to a contest. Whoever gets the most cards has to take the loser out for supper. My fellow Americans...Please join Shari and I in a quest for a free supper. Send Amy cards!
ames--
are you aware that, as of recently, our mailboxes now are able to take large, numerous packages? Included are packages from FedEx, UPS, USPS, and DHS. Just thought that this info might come in handy....
Dad, All I have to say is, YOU'RE ON!
love,
amy
If there is a tie on cards, you might have to extend it a little ~ I just noticed my package went to a different address ~ PO Box 6385 ! I'll make sure I resend it if it comes back!!!
It's been awhile since I've checked the blog ~ you had me smiling and crying at the same time!! Love you, Jill
Jill, we still receive mail at that address. We are just trying to all transition into one big mailbox. (I am super excited to see your card by the way!)
Love,
amy
Dad Feichter,
We have a bigger box now so that black ipod in the gel case will fit in the box with your Christmas card. I know you were worried about that little detail. I am glad to be of assistance to you. I think the Schick's would win the card wall contest, but whose asking?
