Happy Birthday to us!

In Mexico and Latin American culture, when a girl turns 15, it is normally celebrated with a large celebration. It reminds me of Southern Belle festivities, when they are "presented to society." The girls here were talking about their future plans for their "quincenearas" and discovered that as American girls, we never had our big 15 year bash. The planning started and Saturday night, Gloria and the girls threw a 15 year birthday party for Jenna, Nicole and I. (The fact that none of us have birthdays in August or that we are all in our 20's did not halt their enthusiasm.) The girls did our hair (complete with tiaras), helped choose our clothes, etc. Jenna's little boys were our escorts. They weren't quite sure what to think of that many girls in their house...

It was a good time; however, I am glad that I never have to turn 15 again!

Hey Dear! Although this is my first comment, I have been a faithful "Amy's blog reader"!! I'm sorry I missed you when you were home in Indiana. It would have been great to get together!!! Every now and then random things happen to bring you to mind - and a smile is always soon to follow. I miss you, and want you to know I am so thankful to see the joy on your face!!!! You are truly in a place where you are being used by God for HIS glory! It's amazing to watch Him work.
I love you, am :)
P.S. Neezer is doing great!
